ScribeFire for Firefox 3 is a powerful non-Microsoft WYSIWYG blogging tool that interfaces with a ton of different blog hosts. It's pretty slick for being an extension in FF3. Although you are limited to some degree when it comes to formating your posts, it still offeres a very impressive array of features. Give it a test drive. Keep reading to see a step by step how-to install and publish a post to your Blog. Oh, and BTW,
this post was done using ScribeFire!First go to the ScribeFire Editor page on the Fireforx Add-ons site.
Next, allow the installation.

Once the Add-on installs you will be promted to restart Firefox. Go ahead.
Now the fun begins.
Let's setup a blog to use eh?
Open ScribeFire as shown below.

Once ScribeFire "maximizes" up, click the Add button to the right of the WYSIWYG editor section.
This is pretty easy, even if you have your own domain (hosted with Blogger).

Click next!
Now select your blog host. Blogger is an example of one...

After clicking next, it's going to ask you Login information for your Blogger account (or whatever host you use).

Click next!
Now, for this demonstration I've used my blog. Notice if you setup your blog successfully, you'll see your blog showup in the "Blogs to be Added" field.

Click next....

...and Finish!
That's it! You're now ready to post to your Blog via ScribeFire. Let's go ahead and check out the WYSIWYG editor.

Here, you have a pretty similar setup as Blogger. Self-explanatory, simple, and yet very powerful. You can add images, links, videos, embed HTML, and a slew of other features. Another nice addition, is the right-click context menu. Most of what want to do quickly is all right there. It makes adding to your blog post simple.

As you can see too, you have formatting options, file uploading, and a wide range of Insert options.
Just a sidenote if you're adding images to your post. When you select Add an Image and you're uploading the picture from your Computer, be sure to use the API option to upload not the FTP option. It just works quicker. However, if you're using your own hosted site and server to your blog, the FTP option is better, whereas the API upload option is designed for hosts like Blogger.
At any rate, it makes life very simple and easy when it comes to photo-rich posts (such as this one).
Take it for a spin. If you don't like it, simply delete the Add-on out of Firefox and no harm is done.
