Scanner/Camera??

Have you ever seen those pictures of people hidden in the reflection of the gadgets they're selling on ebay? Or, what about the items you're browsing for on ebay and you can barely see the $700 ipod touch because someone used the flashflahsflashflashflash and now the dumb things all washed out?

Here's a quick tip. If you like to sell on ebay and you often sell simple items that are, oh let's say, smaller than the footprint of your flatbed scanner or all-in-one printer....then do we have a solution for you!

Uh, use that...the scanner!

Cell phones, mp3 players, discs, pretty much anything with a basic dimension can be scanned on your flatbed scanner. It's quick, easy, and you'll have a good quality picture (without all the "extras") in less than a few minutes.

Try it sometime! To the right is a sample of a phone that was scanned. Not bad eh? What the.....is that me in my tighty whiteys reflected in the screen!?!? Oh nope, wait, it was done using my flatbed scanner. Phew! Quite honestly I just like to type flatbed scanner over and over. OK, I'm done.

Update: Thanks Lifehacker for the feature! Some of you wanted to know what kind of scanner we used. It's a HP F380 AIO using VueScan from www.hamrick.com

For 'scanner photography' one of the cheapest scanners on the market, just may be the best.

I find the Epson Perfection 3170 works great. Get more details at www.scanner-magic.com/best-scanner.html

This scanner model runs about $100 or less.
